Day 1-2: Withdrawal
The first two days feel awful — restless, bored, anxious. This is genuine withdrawal from dopamine stimulation. Your brain is recalibrating. The discomfort is evidence of how dependent you'd become, not evidence that you need to go back.
Day 3-5: Clarity
By day three, something shifts. Anxiety decreases. Sleep improves. You notice things in your environment you'd been scrolling past. Conversations feel deeper because you're actually present. Your internal monologue quiets down.
Day 6-7: Baseline Reset
By the end of the week, your self-esteem stabilizes. Without constant comparison, your self-image returns to a more accurate baseline. You realize how much of your anxiety was externally generated rather than internally caused.
